Hong Kong Pools – The Best Places to Cool Off in the Heat

Whether it’s the scorching sun or the insufferable humidity, Hong Kong summers are brutal. But there’s a way to beat the heat and cool down — hit up one of the city’s best public pools for an invigorating soak or an Instagram-worthy photo session.

From slick hotel rooftop pools to kid-friendly splash zones, here are the best places to dip your toes as the weather heats up.

Located on the 6th floor of Rosewood, this stunning infinity pool offers every patron a one-of-a-kind view of Victoria Harbour’s calming waters. The 25 meter-long pool is perfect for laps or a leisurely swim. After a dip, lounge on the deck and sip on refreshing cocktails, while enjoying the majestic scenery around you. And if you’re feeling wellness-driven, you can even sign up for a tai chi or yoga class.

This beautiful outdoor pool in Wan Chai is an excellent choice if you’re looking for an oasis right in the heart of the city. The pool is located right next to the iconic Bank of China building and is surrounded by lush greenery. It’s also only a short walk from the Exhibition Centre station on the Sha Tin to Central Link line. And if you’re a member, you can get access to the pool and its facilities for free!

If you’re not a member of the club, you can still get a day pass to enjoy the pool and the fitness centre. The rate is only HK$17 on weekdays, and the price for students or those aged above 60 or below 13 is much lower. And if you’re an active member, you can purchase up to 12 day passes at once!

Aside from the slick hotel pools, there are plenty of other public swimming pools you can enjoy in Hong Kong. In fact, all government-managed beaches will reopen on Thursday as per usual, with lifeguard services returning to 15 beaches. And don’t forget to pack your mask if you plan on visiting a beach!

For a poolside experience a tad more luxurious, try the one at Island Shangri-La. Unlike the other pools on this list, this pool is smack-dab in the middle of the city, with grass surrounding the dazzling blue waters. And when you’re done, head up to WET DECK for a drink and a bite to eat while you take in the vistas of Victoria Harbour.

From kid-friendly splash zones to slick hotel pools that will have your Instagram feed screaming, these are the best places to cool down as the weather heats up. So pack your swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen — we’re ready for some pool time!
